Movement of Active directory database

The following steps explains about how to move the active directory databse from one drive to another drive. This is very useful if you are facing a disk space issue in C: drive and you are planning to movethe Active directory databse file to D: drive or into some other drive. it will be very useful..

first Start your DC in active directory restore mode..and follow the instructions..

1. Click Start, click Run, type ntdsutil in the Open box, and then press ENTER.
2. At the Ntdsutil command prompt, type files, and then press ENTER.
3. At the file maintenance command prompt, type move DB to new location (where new location is an existing folder that you have created for this purpose), and then press ENTER.
4. To quit Ntdsutil, type quit, and then press ENTER.
5. Restart the computer
